Intimately inspiring jazz vocals Susan Krebs with Mixed Remotions – DAYBREAK: It’s been a while since I reviewed Susan’s “Spring Light out of Darkness“, where she got high marks from me. On her new release, she gives you intimately inspiring jazz vocals that will (quickly) become favorites… first, check out the promo video for her new album…
When you SUBSCRIBE to Susan’s YouTube channel, you’ll be able to enjoy many more performances, too.
In addition to Susan’s stunning jazz vocals, you’ll also hear Rich Eames (pno), Jerry Kalaf (dr/vb), Domenic Genova (bs), Scott Breadman (perc), Riner Scivally (gtr), Rob Lockart (ww), and Doug Walter (ww)… as you listen to the laid-back and intimate vocals on the opener, “Can’t Get Out of This Mood“, you’ll know that you’re listening to a tune that is bound to become a classic, as DJ’s on jazz stations ’round the globe choose this for frequent rotations on their shows!
I was highly impressed with the recording quality on “Listen Here“, and absolutely loved the percussion and vibe work… Susan’s vocal softly tells you the story of the “little voice inside”… marvelous; in fact, this performance helped me to decide that this is one of the very best jazz vocal albums I have heard/reviewed (yet) in 2021.
You’ll be waltzing the night away as you listen to Susan’s interpretation of “How Little We Know“… I couldn’t help but think of some of the glorious dance scenes in the TV musicals I watched growing up as a kid!
My personal favorite of the seven songs offered up was just too easy… the aforementioned title track, “Daybreak“, will give you visions of the beauty of early mornings, and inspire you to move ever forward… sweet, sweet jazz.
I give Susan and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99. Get more information on Susan’s website. Rotcod Zzaj
