Deliciously dynamic jazz Andy Bianco – NYC Stories

Deliciously dynamic jazz Andy Bianco – NYC STORIES:  This is actually my first listen to Andy’s perfectly performed jazz guitar work… what he presents on this album is some of the most deliciously dynamic jazz you will ever listen to… to view a taste of Andy’s exceptional guitar mastery, I recommend you watch the following video first…

…then, since you’re right there already, be sure you SUBSCRIBE to his YouTube channel, where you’ll find many more great videos for your visual and aural pleasure.

Andy is joined by equally talented players – saxophonist Wayne Escoffery and pianist George Burton, and as you listen to the full-bodied jazz ride on “Politricks“, you’ll find yourself falling in love with the trio… I have no doubt that jazz DJ’s across the globe will be spinning this high-energy tune in regular rotations!

The song titled “The Pigeon Whisperer” might lull you into thinking that you’ll be listening to one of those “gentle jazz” tunes… nothing could be further from the truth… from the very first note, this track is “ON”, and doesn’t stop insisting that you participate until (of course) the very last bar… certainly one of the most dynamic jazz tunes I’ve listened to in 2020.

“NYC Stories” is dedicated to Andy’s musician and educator father, who passed two years ago, and in honor of him, Andy setup a music scholarship, which you can learn more about (and make donations to) at The Phillip Bianco Memorial Music Scholarship page.  You can also learn more about Phillip in the Mt. Lebanon Magazine and the scholarship fund at the Almanac.

A short song that’s mighty laid-back and mellow is realized in “Wild Geese“… as you listen to this one, you’ll easily see the beauty and consistency of our natural world… a very nice interlude!

My choice for personal favorite of the eleven enchanting songs on the album was a foregone conclusion as soon as I listened to it the first time… “Bottom Dollar” is both lively and funky; in the best traditions of great NYC jazz, to be sure.

I give Andy and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00 – that means that he also gets a “PICK” from me for “highest energy guitar jazz”.  Get more information on the Outside In Music page for the release.    You can PURCHASE the album HERE.              Rotcod Zzaj
