Uniquely healing music Bodhi – Deep Dream

Uniquely healing music Bodhi – DEEP DREAM:  I review music constantly, usually every day – so, I am seldom filled with stress.  The (very) last thing I want to (ever) do in my reviews is induce stress by highlighting ugly “politics” , but I am writing this on the 4th day after the 2020 election, and my psyche has been sorely strained for several days now; but as I listen to Bodhi’s uniquely healing music in my Great Northwest studio, my spirit feels the might of the Universe begin to mend my soul.  Before I critique his new album, I (most strongly) suggest you watch this magical artist in action…

…you can enjoy many more wonderful and wizardly performances when you SUBSCRIBE to the Bodhi Soundscape Oasis YouTube channel (I did that immediately).

In addition to Bodhi’s amazing flutes, keyboards, bells, chimes, charango, guitar and drums, you’ll also hear Christopher Krotky doing drums and drum programming, Jen Rund on bass and Spencer Nielson on didgeridoo… their performance and pacing on the 9:56 “Desert Canvas” is absolutely stunning… if you listen with your headphones on (highly recommended for the entire hour and 17 minute album), the sand paintings will come to life before your very ears!

I spent just over 15 years in Korea, so Bodhi’s “Behind The Buddha” has very special meaning for me… I can easily imagine my (many) treks to the top of the mountain near Samchok (a town near the ocean) to visit and break bread with the monks there.

The sounds of waves surround you on the opening title track, “Deep Dream“… while the tune is calming and deeply moving, you will feel the full force of the Universal power that guides us all on this beautiful song!

It wasn’t difficult (at all) to make my choice for personal favorite of the nine (long) performances… “Every Breath” has captivating flutes and heavenly harp sounds woven together with other instruments in what I hear to be a sacred celebration of life and the living of it… this song should win awards, to be sure.

I give Bodhi and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00; that means, of course, that the album also gets a “PICK” from me for “most healing album of 2020”.  Get more information on Bodhi’s page for the release.                               Rotcod Zzaj
