tantalizing tasty original jazz Carl Clements – A Different Light

tantalizing tasty original jazz Carl Clements – A DIFFERENT LIGHT:  If you find yourself looking for tantalizing tasty original jazz, reedist Carl and his fellow players serve it up in spades on Carl’s upcoming (23 May, 2024) release… first, I strongly recommend that you check out this live in-studio performance to get a feel for the music they create…

If you found this video as enchanting as I did, you’ll want to be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Carl’s YouTube channel right away.

One of the most energizing songs you’ll hear this year is the 7:48 opener, “Onset“… in addition to Carl’s fantastic saxophone and bansuri, you’ll also hear Chase Morrin on piano, Bruno Råberg doing bass and drums from Gen Yoshimura… don’t be surprised if you find yourself spinning this tune over and over (and OVER) again; it’s definitely in the “instant hit” category!

After listening through the entire album 3 times, it was easy to make my choice for personal favorite of the nine exciting tunes offered up… the 9:46 “In Sight” opens with absolutely captivating drums that lead into a space that gives each of the players the chance to shine ever so brilliantly.  Perfect timing and flawless recording will have you completely absorbed from the opening note to the closing measure… I predict this song will win awards.

This is an amazing jazz journey that gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on Carl’s website, or download/stream the album on the Bandcamp page for the release (below).
