Unique instrumentation musical joy Joss Jaffe and Jim “Kimo” West – Blossom

Unique instrumentation musical joy Joss Jaffe and Jim “Kimo” West – BLOSSOM:  It’s been a bit since I reviewed Joss on his soothing “Meditation Music” album; on this new single with slack-key guitarist Jim West, you’ll hear unique instrumentation and raw musical joy… you can listen to the recording by clicking below…

I joined his YouTube channel as soon as I reviewed him, and I strongly recommend that you SUBSCRIBE to Joss’s YouTube channel as well.

You’ll hear Indian tablas, Hawaiian percussion, African Ngoni (harp), a bevy of custom and rare guitars, and ambient soundscapes.  I couldn’t help but remember the joy I felt when I first listened to the Shakti albums from John McLaughlin, though the pacing on “Blossom” is much more precise and engaging.  DJ’s of all stripes will be falling in love with this song and plugging it into regular rotations!

What I found most pleasing about the duo’s superb playing is the long-lasting overtones they achieve together; and Joss’s tabla work is the most enchanting I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021.  Here’s a DIRECT link to the song.

I have no doubt that this most enjoyable song will be recommended for awards; if I were on the nominating committee, they would be guaranteed a win!

I give Joss and Jim a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on Joss’s website as it becomes available, or at Jim’s website.  (released by “Be Why Music“)                             Rotcod Zzaj
