Totally tasty jazz vibes The Coachella Valley Trio – Mid Century Modern

Totally tasty jazz vibes The Coachella Valley Trio – MID CENTURY MODERN:  My latest review of Doug Macdonald’s sensuous and sensitive jazz guitar work got very high marks, and his new release as part of the Coachella Valley Trio features Larry Holloway on bass, Tim Pleasant on drums and special guest Big Black playing djembe… this is truly one of the most laid-back jazz sets I’ve listened to (yet) in 2020!

I didn’t find any LIVE performances for this new album, but if you SUBSCRIBE to Doug’s YouTube channel, there are many there for you to enjoy.

Every single note (and every single instrument) just “click” on the wonderfully soothing “Lance Or Lot“… the 4:43 length for the tune will make it a favorite for jazz DJ’s around the globe, and I predict it will get HUGE amounts of airplay!

I thought Doug’s description of the music on this release really said it best… “Mid Century Modern” can indeed be considered a state of mind“… that’s brilliantly illustrated on the Latin-flavored “Bossa Nueva“… this tune will have you up and dancing ’round the room in only moments.

It was another high-energy composition with a lot of Latin that won my vote for personal favorite of the eleven songs offered up… “Cat City Samba” clearly shows the love the players have for comforting the listener with their talents… I just LOVED this track!

I give The Coachella Valley Trio a most highly recommended rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this most enjoyable album.  Get more information on Doug’s website.        Rotcod Zzaj
