totally exciting original jazz Taylor Eigsti – Plot Armor

totally exciting original jazz Taylor Eigsti – PLOT ARMOR:  This album releases on the 1st of March, 2024, and I can guarantee you won’t find such totally exciting original jazz elsewhere… here’s a live performance of the title track from the album…

Be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Taylor’s YouTube channel also, where you’ll find many more intriguing performances to enjoy.

Taylor decided early on that he would have “twin masters” in each slot, so you get a kind of “double whammy” on each tune… fantastic players… (vocalist Lisa Fischer, trumpeter Terence Blanchard); vocals (Gretchen Parlato, Becca Stevens); saxophone (Ben Wendel, Dayna Stephens); guitar (Charles Altura, Julian Lage); keyboards/piano (Maya Kronfeld, the man himself); bass (David “DJ” Ginyard, Harish Raghavan); drums (Oscar Seaton, Jr., Kendrick Scott), plus many appearances by a layered string section (Stephanie Yu, Corinne Sobolewski, Mia Barcia-Colombo, Jules Levy)… the tune where that really came across the best is the 4:50 “Bucket of F’s” – one of the most amazing high-energy performances I’ve listened to (yet) in 2024!

If you’re looking for full-bodied jazz with heavy layering and forward-looking movement, you’ll find the 6:07 opening track, “Let You Bee”, will fill the bill… it is (without question) my personal favorite of the thirteen tantalizing jazz experiences offered up.  I give Taylor and all his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.

You can PRE-ORDER, or just keep your eye on Taylor’s Spotify channel as it gets closer to the release date.
