Sweetly swerving solo piano Peter Manning Robinson – Double Helix

Sweetly swerving solo piano Peter Manning Robinson – DOUBLE HELIX:   As a pianist myself, I am always looking for creativity that “exceeds the standard”, and Peter’s sweetly swerving solo piano work does that perfectly… before I start my review, though, I (most STRONGLY) recommend that you watch his trailer video for the beautiful “Labyrinth of Petals“…

…the beautifully produced video gives you an “in-person” view of Peter’s creative process, too… since you’re there already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the Peter Manning Robinson – Image Music channel – I did it right away.

Peter’s “refracted music” is put together without prerecorded tracks, triggered samples, external sounds or MIDI instruments, and the results are simply amazing, as you’ll hear on the excellent “Secret Sauce“… alright, I DID say his music is “different”, right?  DJ’s of all stripes across the globe are going to be spinning this track CONSTANTLY, I predict!

When it comes to contemplative yet inspiring piano work, Peter’s simply titled “Enigma” is unparalleled… this is just the kind of music that needs to be piped into our classrooms… children would not only be enchanted – they would be peaceful and more full of life.

The mysterious and intriguing “Invisible Highway” will take you on a journey through some amount of darkness, but carry you all the way through to the light that exists for all of us… a wonderful piece of music for our troubled times, folks… I was very impressed with this performance!

Of the sixteen sonic gems Peter offers up, there was no doubt in my mind what my choice for personal favorite was going to be… “Surfing The Sunrise” is (without question) the “brightest” solo piano performance I have heard (yet) in 2020… if I were on the nominating committees for “creative music”, this piece would be an “instant winner”.

I give Peter a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00… what that means, of course, is that Peter also gets a “PICK” from me for “most creative solo piano”.  Get more information about this exciting album on Peter’s website.                                               Rotcod Zzaj
