Svelte swingin’ saxophone jazz Jack Brandfield – I’ll Never Be The Same

Svelte swingin’ saxophone jazz Jack Brandfield – I’LL NEVER BE THE SAME:  If you lookup the word svelte, you’ll find that one of the meanings is “elegant”… tenor saxophonist Jack Brandfield is definitely elegant on this svelte swingin’ saxophone jazz album he just release in April, 2021… while I didn’t (yet) see any live performances from the release, you can get a nice taste of Jack’s talent-filled performance from this earlier video…

You may want to SUBSCRIBE to Jack’s YouTube channel; I’m sure he will be posting many more videos there in the coming months.

Jack’s mellow tenor playing is supported very nicely by Randy Napoleon on guitar and Rodney Whitaker doing bass.. the trio’s performance on tunes like the 4:50 original by Jack, “Where Leaves Change“, make it abundantly clear how much they enjoy playing together… you’ll be hearing this frequently on jazz stations across the globe!

You’ll hear shades of Stan (as in Getz) on Jack’s beautiful and warm tones on “Andorinha“… it’s really easy to picture myself sitting in a breezy cafe sipping margaritas as I listen to this splendid song.

The very unique arrangement and performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” stands as a testament to Jack’s respect for The Great American Songbook… simply lovely!

Of the dozen delightful songs Jack offers up for our jazz journey, I found it easy to make my choice for personal favorite… the 4:55 “Vignette” is chock-full of life, with Jack’s tenor solos standing as total testimony to his talent.

I give Jack and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on Jack’s website.       Rotcod Zzaj
