Supremely stimulating Latin jazz Duduka Da Fonseca and Quarteto Universal – Yes

Supremely stimulating Latin jazz Duduka Da Fonseca and Quarteto Universal – YES:  I’ve been a BIG fan of Duduka’s for many years now… I most recently reviewed his “Aquas Brasileiras” album with very high marks.  On his new release, due out in October, 2022, you’ll hear some of the most supremely stimulating Latin jazz he’s ever produced… first, here’s an older clip of him at work…

Since you’re right there already, be sure you SUBSCRIBE to Duduka’s YouTube channel to enjoy many more exciting performances.

If your ears are thirsting for heavy-duty jazz that scorches from the very first bar, I have no doubt you’ll love “Exodo” as much as I did… I predict that this tune will be getting constant airplay on jazz stations around the world!

In addition to Duduka’s perfect drumming, you’ll hear Vinicius Gomes – guitars; Helio Alves – piano and Gili Lopes – bass… tunes like the freely floating “West 83rd Street” are absolutely “hipper than hip”, and you’ll find yourself coming back to spin this beautiful tune frequently.

Helio’s piano intro on “Bebe” is simple, yet full of beauty… perfect pacing throughout this 6:23 jazz gem… you won’t find better Latin-flavored jazz anywhere else… I absolutely loved the “flow” the players established on this excellent performance!

After my first listen through the album, it was easy to choose “Viver de amor” as my personal favorite of the ten excellent songs offered up.  Flawless recording makes this one of the best jazz tunes I’ve heard (yet) in 2022.

Duduka and all his players get a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information here.                   Rotcod Zzaj
