Superbly stunning elegant jazz Urbanity – Urbanity

Superbly stunning elegant jazz Urbanity – URBANITY:  The dictionary says that “urbane” means suave, courteous, and refined in manner, and nothing could be closer to the truth on this absolutely stunning and elegant release from master jazz guitarist Albare and pianist Phil Turico (you’ll also hear Bernard Fowler doing vocals & Tim Ries on Tenor Sax)… their rendition of the classic “Desperado” is certainly among the best I’ve ever heard… the pacing is perfect, and it’s almost like a conversation, as you’ll see/hear when you watch the trailer video for this one…

…since you’re right there already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the Albare Music Group channel, where you’ll find a LOT of other very high-quality performances to enjoy… I did.

I’ve been reviewing Albare’s fantastic guitar jazz for a good while now, most recently his “Only Human” album, where he got high marks from me… the kalimba sounds on the intro to “Time Travel” lead straight in to one of the loveliest (and liveliest) guitar/piano tunes you’ll listen to in 2019!

While there will be a tendency for DJ’s to “lump” this in with “smooth jazz”, it’s far, FAR more than that… just listen to the electronics that Phil has programmed into the wonderful “Funny Clouds“… a laid-back groove, but full of a unique intensity… I loved this piece, and expect you’ll be hearing it in jazz rotations all across the globe soon.

Without question, my personal favorite of the ten tracks offered up for your musical adventure is the 5:27 “Sweet Sun Road“… there’s such a strong jazz presence here; this tune should be nominated for (and WIN) awards, to be sure!

I give Urbanity a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this superbly crafted/performed jazz set. Get more information about the album on the ALFI Records website.        Rotcod Zzaj
