Superbly spontaneous straight up jazz Troy Roberts & Tim Jago – Best Buddies

Superbly spontaneous straight up jazz Troy Roberts & Tim Jago – BEST BUDDIES:  There’s nothing better than having friends who love to play jazz, and I believe you’ll agree that the superbly spontaneous straight-up jazz Troy and his pals create for you on their new release is among the best you’ll hear in 2021… here’s an up-close and personal video preview first…

It’s really cool to watch them talk about what makes them tick musically… be sure you SUBSCRIBE to his Toy Robot Music channel, for many more entertaining live and studio performances.

The album doesn’t officially hit the streets until 18 June, 2021, so samples aren’t available yet, but I can tell you that Troy (saxophone) and his players (Tim Jago – guitar; Karl Florisson – acoustic bass and Ben Vanderwal – drums) will have you on the edge of your seat with tunes like the high-energy opener, “Chythm Ranges”…  you can (definitely) look forward to hearing this on stations all ’round the globe!

Ben’s drums on the blissfully bold “King Of Hearts” merit listening with your headphones on, to be sure… this 7:43 tune is among the most full-bodied jazz tunes I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021.

Jago’s original closer for the album, “Overlook”, absolutely breathes with the fire of jazz unleashed… Troy’s solos on this performance will make you fall in love with the group instantly!

Of the nine songs offered up for our jazz joy, I found “Evil Eye” was (hands-down) my personal favorite… the energy flow is constant, and the recording is pure perfection… you won’t find better jazz than this anywhere.

I give Troy and his mates a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on Troy’s website as it becomes available.                                        Rotcod Zzaj
