Stunning nature snapshots Jill Haley – The Winds of Badlands

Stunning nature snapshots Jill Haley – THE WINDS OF BADLANDS:  Readers who visit our pages regularly will know that Jill has graced our pages often… my last review of her work was for “The Waters of Glacier“, one of her series that brings our National Parks to life for you… please watch this video created for the new album first…

…as you saw, the video helps to emphasize the beauty she was writing about when she created the dozen original songs for her latest album; be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Jill’s YouTube channel, too, so you can watch many more exciting videos… I did.

Jill’s tantalizing piano, oboe and English horn are complimented wonderfully by her husband, David Cullen, on guitar and bass, and her son, Graham Cullen, on cello; that’s particularly true for songs like “Western Meadowlark Call“… the call/response she and David play for the intro is a perfect setup for this most magical tune; I just loved it, and will be playing it over and over again!

Graham’s cello intro on “Moon Over Badlands” is particularly haunting, and will give you visions of the glory of night skies and the wonderment they can bring to the human spirit… the recording is flawless… I do recommend that (at least for your first sitting) you listen to this with headphones on, so you can catch every nuance of this beautiful song.

Though South Dakota’s Badlands National Park is a bit on the desolate side, it is also filled with the beauty of nature, and Jill says she “hopes that by sharing this music, there will be a heightened awareness of these amazing places… for this listener, that was no more evident than on my personal favorite of the dozen songs she offers up… the sense of hope and rejuvenation you will hear on the 4:34 “Sage Creek Basin” will skyrocket this excellent piece of music to the top of the charts around the globe!

I give Jill and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00… which means that her album also gets my “PICK” for “most inspiring nature album”.  Get more information on Jill’s page for the release.           Rotcod Zzaj
