Positively marvelous piano Roger Davidson – Music From The Heart

Positively marvelous piano Roger Davidson – MUSIC FROM THE HEART:  I can’t tell you exactly how many times I’ve reviewed Roger’s wonderful jazz piano work – because my database doesn’t go back that far… this new release, slated for release in September, 2018, is jam-packed with exuberant original compositions, and features Roger’s mellow piano, with Hendrick Meurkens doing vibraphone/harmonica, Eduardo Belo on bass and Adriano Santos doing drums… I’ll put the sample links in when they become available, but I can tell you right now that you’ll fall in love with the 4:06 “The Way You Move My Heart” instantly… just lovely!

I first reviewed Roger and Hendrik on their “Prayer for Tomorrow” album, where they got high ratings from me, and this new 2018 release is even more full of life… songs like “ONDE ESTA SUA ALMA?” (“Where Is Your Soul”) are both mellow and (at the same time) lively… this is a tune you’ll find yourself playing over and over again… perfect for cruising on sunny Northwest afternoons.

If you’re in the mood for dancing to exuberant Latin jazz, the closer, “Samba De Alegria” is your ticket to triumph… this song alone makes the purchase of the fifteen-song album worth it!

It wasn’t difficult (at all) to determine what my personal favorite of those 15 songs is… the 4:51 “Guardian Angel” is vibrant with Roger’s distinctive piano style, and Hendrik’s vibraphone on this tune elevates it to the award-winning level, to be sure.  I give Roger and his bandmates a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99; this is, quite simply, the best jazz I’ve ever heard Roger perform.  Get more information about this high-talent, high-energy player on the Roger Davidson website.           Rotcod Zzaj
