Passionate captivating improvisation Bob Gluck – Early Morning Star

Passionate captivating improvisation Bob Gluck – EARLY MORNING STAR:  It’s been quite some time since I reviewed Bob’s amazing piano work in issue # 144… on this new album, his keyboards are joined by Andrea Wolper (voice); Kinan Azmeh (clarinet); Ken Filiano (bass) and Tani Tabbal (drums)… there’s an excellent video that captures the essence of the creation of this album here…

…if you like what you saw there, I most strongly recommend that you SUBSCRIBE to Bob’s YouTube channel as well.

I’ve always said that Bob composes and performs music that “brings to life” whatever is being considered… you’ll hear the group’s skill at that as you listen to “Emerge-ency“… a bit frenetic, perhaps, but the song title says it all, aye?  I believe this tune will be getting some HUGE airplay!

The interplay between bass and clarinet during the intro for “Today Today” is superb, and the recording is flawless… when Bob’s keyboard joins in at the 2:35 mark, the tune soars off into the stratosphere… a great performance.

I enjoyed the reflective expressions on the title track, “Early Morning Star“, and Andrea’s vocal clearly expresses hope for the future… a very satisfying (and calming) performance!

Of the eleven songs offered up for our listening pleasure, I found the 4:43 “Here Now” is my choice for personal favorite… a playful spirit abounds on this tune, drawing out all kinds of emotions for the listener.

I give Bob and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on the BandCamp page for the album.                            Rotcod Zzaj
