Luxuriously stimulating solo piano Darlene Koldenhoven – The Grand Piano Spa

Luxuriously stimulating solo piano Darlene Koldenhoven – THE GRAND PIANO SPA:  One thing that’s been a constant in my reviews of Darlene’s music is that there’s just no way to know what she will create next… each album has been a treasure, if only because of its’ uniqueness… as you’ll see when you read my review of her “Chromatones” project.

On her latest release, due on the 14th of May, 2021, she plays luxuriously stimulating solo piano that will amaze you… if you SUBSCRIBE to Darlene’s YouTube channel  you’ll find delightful LIVE recordings… to get a taste of her deliciously diverse piano style, watch the video below first (by clicking on it)…

The nine piano solos are all originals from Darlene, and they are vibrantly alive with the passion of true artistry… I was most impressed with pieces like the 3:14 “Into the Light”… there’s a sense of sadness as the tune starts, but by the :55 mark, an awareness of the joy of darkness departing pervades and wraps you in the comfort of great things coming… I predict that this song will win awards in many categories!

Many of the songs on this great album were influenced by the isolation caused by the pandemic… you’ll get a clear insight into Darlene’s thoughts as you listen to her pleasant playing on “Reverie” – the overtones she achieves on her keyboard for this performance are absolutely magical.

Images of grand gardens will flourish in your mind’s eye as you enjoy the opening track, the 3:07 “Wisteria”… you’ll see the sweep of the hanging clusters washing beauty over you, and revel in the joy it creates!

On my personal favorite of the nine engaging tunes offered up, “Delphi’s Dream,” Darlene weaves you into the spell of a most powerful Oracle… what emerges is the brilliance of a future full of new possibilities… I especially loved the contrasts between the lower and upper registers that Darlene’s mastery brings to the performance.

I give Darlene a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this truly enjoyable solo piano album.  Get more information on Darlene’s page for the release.      You can now PRE-ORDER this in CD format on Darlene’s BandCamp site.          Rotcod Zzaj
