Kathryn Kaye beautifully inspiring solo piano Kathryn Kaye – Songs of Changing Light

Kathryn Kaye beautifully inspiring solo piano Kathryn Kaye – SONGS OF CHANGING LIGHT:  It’s only fitting that my very first review for 2018 should be such beautifully inspiring solo piano work from Kathryn, whose music has been reviewed in my pages often – most recently in December of 2016 – and her new album is even more inspiring!  Just listen to pieces like “Winter’s Deepest Sleep“, and you’ll hear why I’m so happy to have her touch my spirit through her masterful keyboard work!

Another of my favorite compositions from Kathryn is “Heavy As A Feather“… her touch on this piece is the envy of many aspiring pianists, and her “pacing” on the song will make your heart soar blissfully towards a New Year that transcends all your others… in fact, that’s a comment I often make about Kathryn’s piano work… she illumines most mystical horizons, and shows you how to rise above the fray with her easy (yet high-energy) tempos.

There are a total of fourteen wonderful piano works from her previous six albums on this new release, all chosen (I believe) to enlighten listeners from all walks of life, and help them see the light that life can bring… I don’t believe any song in recent memory has touched my soul quite as dramatically as “Adrift In Fading Light“… the more often you listen to this calming and wonderful piano excursion, the better off your year will be!

The song that (easily) gets my vote for personal favorite of the fourteen deeply moving pieces, though, is simply titled “Distances“… her left-hand solidly anchors the chords, while the right gives you insights into just how far you’ve come, and conveys the excitement of wonders yet to come… one word of advice… at least for your first sitting, be sure you absorb all fourteen of these compositions with your headphones on – you won’t want to miss one note.

I give Kathryn a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this intimately personal collection of her works. You’ll “hear” the light shining brilliantly into your life as you listen to Kathryn’s beautiful solo piano work on “Songs of Changing Light”… it’s music from her soul to yours, and there is no better gift to start a New Year with… I love all fourteen songs on this new release!
