Hypnotic, powerful peaceful solo piano Pam Asberry – The Presence Of Wonder

Hypnotic, powerful peaceful solo piano Pam Asberry – THE PRESENCE OF WONDER:  It’s really easy for me to remember Pam’s powerful, peaceful and hypnotic piano work, as my latest review of her “Thankful Heart, Joyful Mind” was done on my birthday in 2018.  For the new album, she had a couple of excellent video clips produced to illustrate her enchanting talent… I most strongly recommend that you listen to the clips from “Nebula” and the title track, “The Presence Of Wonder” before moving on to my review…

She also performed at the “Whisperings Discovery Concert” in February, 2019, which you can witness below…

…isn’t that just wonderful?  Be sure to SUBSCRIBE to her YouTube channel, where she has made many of her beautiful compositions available for you to watch and listen to – I did.

What really sets Pam’s solo piano work apart from all the others is her excellent use of what I call the “silent spaces”…you’ll hear that with full clarity as you listen to “Lullaby for Mackenzie“, one of my favorite solo piano pieces (so far) in 2019; Pam’s playing will bring you pleasant memories of your own mother rocking you gently to sleep, I’ve no doubt… a spellbinding song!

Something as simple as meeting a new person can have a deep sense of wonderment attached to it, and Pam reaches deep down inside herself to bring that experience to life for you on the very pleasant “The Kindness of Strangers“… I especially enjoyed the overtones she coaxes from the upper registers on this enchanting song… the piano she is playing is a gem, to be sure.

As we’ve all experienced the comfort of evening settling in, sometimes with darker tones, the emotions Pam conveys on “Nocturne” will be both familiar and haunting… if I were on the awards nominating committee, this one would WIN an award – easily!

It’s the longest composition on the album, simply titled “Surrender“, that gets my vote for personal favorite of the thirteen aural adventures Pam offers up for your ears… this is the piece that DEFINITELY shows the talent she has for bringing the POWER of music to your ears, heart & soul… I just LOVE this song!

Pam’s new release is bound to place high on the charts; she gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 on this excellent solo piano adventure.  Learn more about this highly talented pianist on Pam’s website.          Rotcod Zzaj
