Darlene’s brilliant playing on songs like the 3:58 “Lucidity” just shines with the spirit of life, and the length of the piece makes it a perfect match for DJ’s of all sorts to plug in to their playlists… I predict you will be hearing this song often on stations ’round the globe!
One of my favorite things on piano albums is when the artist is able to pull “otherworldly” overtones from the board, and on the beautiful “Black Swan”, Darlene has created a timeless song that will be a favorite for the pursuit of pleasure, whether while meditating or just enjoying the simple things that make life worth living.
You will (undoubtedly) have clear visions of the majesty and glory of “Glaciers” as you listen to Darlene’s amazing piano on this performance… something average listeners may not always realize is how much the artist’s “pacing” influences them… this is (simply) the best example of perfect piano pacing I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021… if any song should be considered for (and WIN) an award – it is this one!
One of the shorter songs, the 3:40 “Sweet Conversations”, reveals Darlene’s ability to “talk to you” through her piano… further evidence of her piano mastery, to be sure… filled with the spirit of friendliness.
There are so many great songs on this album that it took me a second listen (all the way through) with my headphones on to make my choice for personal favorite of the ten tantalizing tunes Darlene offers up… “Cumulus” gives you instant images of blue skies and cotton clouds drifting peacefully through your day… truly one of the most calming piano creations I have ever listened to!
