Essential intimate jazz Brian Landrus – For Now

Essential intimate jazz Brian Landrus – FOR NOW:  It’s been quite a while since I last reviewed Brian’s stellar work in issue # 164 (The Deep Below)… his new May, 2020 release gives you some of the most essential and intimate jazz you will ever listen to… watch the players as they play “The Second Time” from “For Now”…

…the player list is far too long to itemize here, but if you scroll to the bottom of the above video, you’ll be able to see all the high talent Brian included… since you’re there, be sure you SUBSCRIBE to Brian’s YouTube channel, where you’ll be able to enjoy LOTS of live videos.

Samples not available yet, as the album doesn’t officially release until May 15th, 2020, but I can tell you right now that tunes like the high energy opener, “The Signs“, will have you clickin’ & tappin’ right along with the players… jazz DJ’s everywhere will be playing this OFTEN!

If you’re in need of something a bit more laid-back, you’ll find the beauty in “The Miss” is a total winner for you… I just LOVED the piano on this song, and have no doubt you will, too.

Of the thirteen tantalizing songs Brian & crew offer up for you jazz joy, my choice for personal favorite is (definitely) the 5:16 “Her Smile”… Brian’s baritone saxophone on this tune will just blow you away!

I give Brian and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information (& purchase the album) direct on Brian’s page for the release.               Rotcod Zzaj
