Diverse unorthodox jazz John Finbury featuring Magos Herrera, Chano Domínguez, John Patitucci and Antonio Sánchez – Quatro

Diverse unorthodox jazz John Finbury featuring Magos Herrera, Chano Domínguez, John Patitucci and Antonio Sánchez – QUATRO:   Even the liner notes make a point of saying that John Finbury’s compositions are diverse & unorthodox jazz… fortunately, you don’t have to just take my word for it… watch the players in action on the sweet opening track, “Llegará El Día“…

…since you’re there already, you should just SUBSCRIBE to John Finbury’s YouTube channel, so you can watch many more exciting performances.

The bass intro on the 6:06 “Comenzar” segue beautifully into an ultimately cool vocal from Magos Herrera, supported by piano from Chano Dominguez, bass by John Patitucci and the drums of Antonio Sanchez… I have no doubt that jazz DJ’s across the globe will be adding this to their playlists for regular rotation!

If you didn’t have your dancin’ shoes on before the closer, “Da Romp“, started – you certainly WILL by the 4th bar (or earlier)… it’s got everything you need to get all your ducks in a row… great musical magic for bringing the PEOPLE (all of them) together.

When you’re a bit “jaded”, as I am, you’ll want music that doesn’t “stick to the norms”… that’s “different” and that makes your ears stand up and take notice… that’s why my choice for personal favorite is “All The Way To The End“… Chano’s piano work is just SUPERB on this tune, & the recording is flawless!

i give John Finbury and the players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this deliciously different jazz excursion.  Get more information on the Green Flash Music page for the release.          Rotcod Zzaj
