Absolute piano loveliness Renee’ Michele – The Space Within

Absolute piano loveliness Renee’ Michele – THE SPACE WITHIN:  It’s been a good while since I reviewed Renee’s wonderful piano work on “Seasons of the Heart”, and her new release is even more fantastic.  In addition to her gently persuasive piano stylings, you will also hear Jill Haley (English horn), Charlie Bisharat (violin) Eugene Friesen (cello), Jeff Oster (flugelhorn), Will Ackerman (guitar), and Tom Eaton (bass and Hopi drum. The album was recorded at  Will Ackerman’s Imaginary Road Studios and engineered, mixed and mastered by Tom Eaton… all the players and elements required for an excellent release, to be sure… be sure to watch this album intro clip by Will, too…

…while I didn’t find any “live” clips of songs from this album, Renee’ has lots of performances posted, so be sure and SUBSCRIBE to her YouTube channel… I did.

Renee’s intimate and often haunting playing style is especially attractive on tunes like the beautiful “Tabula Rasa“, and the other players clearly understand that this isn’t a piece about overwhelming the listener with power and glory… rather, it’s effects are more long-lasting… I predict that this piece will be getting major airplay, as well as an award!

The stunning opener, “My Angel“, isn’t a terribly complicated piece of music, but it clearly reflects the peacefulness of those heavenly beings… I find myself listening over and over again to this marvelous song, and have no doubt you will as well.

The sense of “floating” that Renee’ paints for the listener via her magical keyboard playing on “Life as a Cloud” will put you in a reflective mood, and bring hours of pleasure, to be sure…

Of the ten compositions she offers up for your listening adventure, I found the ethereal strains of “In the Mist” to be my pick for personal favorite… Jill’s English horn elevates the song to new heights of beauty… I just LOVED Renee’s use of the lower registers on this song!

I give Renee’ and her fellow players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this most memorable album.  Get more information at Renee’s website.        Rotcod Zzaj
