Refreshingly powerful soundscapes of nature Jill Haley – The Waters of Glacier

Refreshingly powerful soundscapes of nature Jill Haley – THE WATERS OF GLACIER: Jill’s powerful soundscapes are always a sonic treat for me; I first reviewed her work way back in issue # 129, where she received solid ratings from me, and each new set of aural sculptures has exceeded the previous one… this April 2nd, 2018, release contains some of the most insightful sonic portraits you will ever listen to!  She has also created some of the most stunning visual art I’ve ever watched (and that’s saying a lot, because over the last two years or so, I’ve watched and listened to hundreds)… watch and learn as Jill shares her vision of “Falling Gold” in the video below:

…since you are witnessing Jill’s award-winning video work, be sure you subscribe to her YouTube channel while you’re there – I did!

The compositions on this amazing album are all originals by Jill… the players are – Jill  (piano, English horn, handbells), David Cullen (guitar), her husband, Dana Cullen (horn), her daughter, Michael Manring: (bass), and Tom Eaton (keyboards, electric guitar, bass); Tom also mixed and mastered the album.  The energies Jill extracts from nature are full and vibrant, as you’ll hear on “Running Eagle Falls“… full of scintillating “rushes”, and seamless interaction between each of the high-talent players, this is the kind of music we need to expose our youngsters to on a daily basis… it would be a far better world if we did that!

Jill has completed several residencies at our Nation’s parks, which has given her unique insight into the beauties of them… I was particularly enthralled with the longest track on the album, “Frost Tinged Evergreens“… the “pacing” alone conveys an awesome understanding of the power nature can (and should) have in our lives… it is so easy to picture those ice-tipped trees, that you’ll feel like you were walking with her when her creations were realized.  I predict, in fact, that this song will be nominated for awards – and WIN them!

Jill and her musical compadres get a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99.  Get more information on Jill’s page for the album.         Rotcod Zzaj
