Wonderfully inspiring Celtic solo piano Doug Hammer – Celtique

Wonderfully inspiring Celtic solo piano Doug Hammer – CELTIQUE:  I was first exposed to Doug’s wonderful (and award-winning) solo piano work when I reviewed his “Americana” album… I was highly impressed with his powerful ability to paint imagery with his music, and this new release evokes even more (and more inspiring) images… just listen to songs like the title track, the 5:38 “Celtique“, to feel the calming tones he uses in his playing… then WATCH the trailer video for the song…

…so simple, yet so full of the vibrancy that is life.  Since you’re there already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Doug’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find many more videos for your pleasure.

Doug was inspired by the many places, cultures and traditions he’s witnessed in his travels, as well as his own love of Celtic music, and his ability to absorb the diversity and then create pieces that listeners all ’round the world can relate to is clear on compositions like the 5:02 “Ancient Stones“… I just love his pacing on this one… a very gentle start proceeds quite nicely into a walk through the countryside in Wales, or perhaps Scotland… Doug coaxes penetrating overtones from his keyboard that will hold you spellbound on this excellent song!

The shimmering circle of life that we all weave through comes vibrantly alive on songs like “Safe Harbor“… the joy of realizing that we are all part of one another is a message we all need to hear, and Doug imparts that easily through his masterful playing… I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see this composition be recommended for awards, and I have no doubt that it will be getting significant airplay on stations ’round the globe.

All fifteen songs on this superb album relate the story of the daily life of a fisherman… it was easy for me to pick my personal favorite… the brilliant tones Doug realizes on “Through the Mist” – it’s very easy to envision that fisherman dancing gleefully along the coastline as he watches the sun rise and feels his spirit soar.

I give Doug a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this amazing aural adventure.   Get more information on Doug’s website.        Rotcod Zzaj
