Unleashed urban jazz Chris Standring – Wonderful World

Unleashed urban jazz Chris Standring – WONDERFUL WORLD:  I always love getting artists that are new to me in for review, and as you listen to the unleashed urban jazz that guitarist/composer/arranger Chris has put together for you, it will be clear that he is a total expert in contemporary jazz.  The album doesn’t actually hit the streets until September 3rd, 2021, but you can hear Chris tell you all about it in this trailer for the release…

You’ll find (literally) 100’s of other intriguing videos when you SUBSCRIBE to Chris’s YouTube channel (which I did immediately).

I can guarantee you’ve never heard “Green Dolphin Street” in the same context that Chris performs it in… fully orchestrated (a 19-piece orchestra), it’s got a solid “groove” mode that jazz DJ’s everywhere are going to make an “instant hit”, no doubt!

Some of the players Chris included are top-flight players themselves… Randy Brecker, Kathrin Shorr, Peter Erskine, Harvey Mason, David Karasony, Chuck Berghofer, Darek Oles and Geoff Gascoyne… on “Falling In Love With Love“, you’ll find solace in the memories of romance the beautiful song inspires, and you’ll feel like dancing the night away.

Solid guitar licks from Chris on “Maxine” make it (truly) one of the coolest jazz tunes I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021… the 3:41 length will (once again) make it absolutely perfect for airplay!

I had no difficulty in making my choice for personal favorite of the eleven exciting songs Chris offers up… “Autumn In New York” leads off with some of the most sensual strings you’ve ever listened to (with bits of harp interspersed), and the “pacing” is pure perfection… a very satisfying performance that you will find yourself listening to over and over (and OVER) again.

Chris and his players get a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information Chris’s website.            Rotcod Zzaj
