Spirited inventive jazz vocals Clairdee – A Love Letter To Lena

Spirited inventive jazz vocals Clairdee – A LOVE LETTER TO LENA:  Back in my formative jazz years, lady vocalists like Nancy Wilson, Nina Simone and (definitely) Lena Horne were among my favorites… Clairdee gives us a most spirited and inventive jazz vocal set in tribute to Lena… to get a LIVE view of why I found myself so attracted to Clairdee’s jazz vocal style, I recommend that you watch this video from a few years back…

…if you dig what you’re seeing/hearing, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Clairdee’s YouTube topic channel, too.

One of the performances on Clairdee’s new release that truly impressed me is the 3:29 “I Got A Name“, a contemporary tune that Jim Croce made famous… bluesy through & through, it’s a song I believe will be getting some MASSIVE airplay on stations of all types around the globe!

Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn wrote the mighty mellow “Something to Live For“, and as you’ll hear on Clairdee’s performance of it, she makes it her own… rich vocal style that will thrill your ears, to be sure.

There was no question in my mind that Strayhorn’s “Maybe“, as so soulfully interpreted by Clairdee, would be my personal favorite of the fourteen tunes and spoken-word interludes offered up for your jazz vocal pleasure… her personality just SHINES on this song!

I give Clairdee a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information at Clairdee’s website.            Rotcod Zzaj
