Sensitive intriguing bass solos Laurent David – Naked

Sensitive intriguing bass solos Laurent David – NAKED:  One thing I know I can always count on is that this magazine will draw submissions from “different” musical artists, and Laurent’s fantastically sensitive and highly intriguing bass solo work on his upcoming (February, 2019) release is definitely not “standard“… one of the very best ways for you to become intimately familiar with his genius of style is to watch him playing the title track, “Naked”, live…

…this was captured in at the NUBLU festival, and as you can see and hear, it’s done without loopers or overdubs… just amazing.  Since you’re there already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to his YouTube channel, too, where you’ll find a LOT more of his enchanting music.

There’s no question but that Laurent’s artistry will be compared to other bass giants like Jaco Pastorius or Jonas Hellborg, but his playing style is so uniquely “his own” that you’ll very soon realize that the beauty of his music is in the spirit he uses to entice your ears into the oblivion he creates with pieces like “Big Foot” (samples will be linked in as soon as I’m told they’ve gone live); heck, the changes on this tune alone make it well worth the purchase of the album! You can also watch/hear a couple of other samples in his trailer video…

What you’ll come to realize as you listen to those samples linked in above is that Laurent is an artist who must be recognized for the sonic art he produces… you can also help him with that, by visiting and contributing to this project… I strongly advise that you do that – today.

Of the ten tantalizing tunes Laurent offers up for our aural pleasure, it was easy to choose the intimate contrasts and cross-tones of “Rebel By Nature” as my personal favorite… this is deeply moving music, with both the sensitivity of classical and the total freedom of improvisation… the spell he creates is the ultimate in precision, and will captivate you immediately… I just LOVED this composition!

I give Laurent a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 5.00… that means, of course, that he also gets a “PICK” from me for “best bass solo album”.  Get more information at the Alter-Nativ music label page for the release.           Rotcod Zzaj
