Roch Lockyer superb guitar and vocal jazz Roch Lockyer – When Frank Met Django

Roch Lockyer superb guitar and vocal jazz Roch Lockyer – WHEN FRANK MET DJANGO:  What an interesting CD… Roch is better known for his modern jazz/bebop roots, but he’s also got some splendid vocal chops as evidenced by his unique rendition of “My Foolish Heart” (samples will work after mid-February, when the album goes HOT – February 14th, 2018, to be exact)… his concept was to celebrate two giants in jazz… Frank Sinatra & Django Reinhardt… when he added Ben Powell-on Violin & Rob Hardt on Clarinet to his team, he showed his musical genius, to be sure.

Roch also put together an absolutely splendid video that reflects the ultimate cool of those days of yore with his performance of “Summer Wind“…

…totally hip, I’ll tell you, folks… & I just LOVE that car!  If you enjoyed that, you may want to get to know him a little better by also watching his EPK for the album (be sure to subscribe to his channel while you’re there, too)…

Roch’s guitar work on “When Day is Done” is just excellent, and his vocals very nicely remind us that there were “better days” (and, just possibly, that we can bring them back again with great music like this).

If you’re looking for jazz that satisfies, you’re going to love my pick for personal favorite on the nine-song album, “It Had to Be You“… again, he brings back the era I grew up in with all it’s shining glory.

I give Roch & his crew a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.97 for this very enjoyable aural experience.  Get more information on the Rochlock page.            Rotcod Zzaj
