Refreshingly innovative piano imagery Paula Dreyer – Central Star

Refreshingly innovative piano imagery Paula Dreyer – CENTRAL STAR:  As I approach the 3/4-century mark in my life, with over 30 years reviewing every type of music imaginable, I can honestly say that the refreshingly innovative piano imagery pianist Paula creates for you on her debut release is among the most unique I’ve ever listened to.  To get the most impact from her artistry, I (most strongly) advise you to watch this marvelous video of her song “Revolt and Reveal” first…

If you are truly a lover of creativity, you owe it to your eyes (and ears) to SUBSCRIBE to Paula’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find nearly 100 performances to enjoy… I signed up right away.

The mood Paula paints for you on the beautiful “Azul” (Blue) will stir long-lost memories… the solitary notes on the introduction help you to relax as you float deeply into an emotional state poignantly, but then at the :52 marker, her full keyboard approach helps to transport you higher and higher… a beautiful song that should definitely be considered for an award!

Passionate flames rise to the surface as I listen to the stunning chords on “Fuego Interno (Under A Flamenco Sky)“… Paula uses the entire range of her magical keyboard to stir the listener to awakening and realization… this song is one of the most powerful piano performances I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021.

Another most notable aspect of Paula’s piano mastery is the broad spectrum of styles she plays in… the 2:46 opener, “Sound of Stars“, will undoubtedly put a twinkle in your ear… every note flows brilliantly through her fingers straight to your heart… I have no doubt that DJ’s (of all stripes) will be plugging this musical gem into their playlists for constant rotation!

After my second listen through the entire album, I had no doubt what my choice for personal favorite was going to be… the aforementioned “Revolt and Reveal” brings the power of Paula’s musical vision into clear focus, and will make you an “instant fan” of her most unique piano style.  If you’re learning piano, Paula can help you with that, too… visit her “Little Gems for Piano” site to learn more (I will be writing more about that soon).

I give Paula a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99… you can find much more about this intriguing artist on Paula’s website; the album is also available in CD and digital format on Paula’s BandCamp page for the release , as well as on Spotify… you can also check her out on Instagram.                            Rotcod Zzaj
