passionate improvisations in real time Jane Ira Bloom and Mark Helias – Some Kind of Tomorrow

Passionate improvisations in real time Jane Ira Bloom and Mark Helias – SOME KIND OF TOMORROW:   It’s been almost three years since I reviewed Jane’s sweet soprano saxophone on “Wild Lines“, but now she’s back with bassist Mark Helias doing passionate improvisations in real time… before I move on to the album, watch an intimate view of Jane in-studio…

…you’ll find several other performances, too, when you SUBSCRIBE to Jane’s YouTube channel.

Some Kind of Tomorrow” is a digital Bandcamp-only release… when you listen to the enchanting interplay on “Magic Carpet“, you’ll realize why I was captivated from the very first note… DJ’s will find this 7:04 track perfect for their jazz playlists, and will be spinning this often, I predict!

The title track, “Some Kind of Tomorrow“, is a clear example of the duo’s talent for “in-the-moment” playing… be sure you listen to this track (as well as the others on the album) with your headphones on, so you can taste ever note and feel every intimate nuance.

I have no doubt you will fine elation and joy bubbling to the surface as you listen to the 4:24 “Early Rites“… a flawless recording and mix make this my favorite duo improvisation (yet) in 2021!

Jane and Mark bring the wonderment of the great outdoors to you in sweet sonic visions on my personal favorite of the eleven sonic marvels they have created for you on “Roughing It“… this is also the longest piece on the album (9:28), so there’s plenty of room for each player to express their feelings clearly to the listener.

I give Jane and Mark a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00… that means that they also get a “PICK” from me for “most intimate duo improvisations”.  Get more information on Jane’s website.    Rotcod Zzaj
