Nocturnal Animals energetic alternative rock Nocturnal Animals – DARK LIT PLACES:  This little alternative rock combo out of Atlanta features Mason Jones on Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Will Bennett doing Lead Guitar, Dawson Tucker on Bass & Derrick Stephen doing Drums on a dynamic four-song EP that will be getting airplay – guaranteed!

I just loved the rockin’ drums on “Red Shoes“, & Mason’s vocals are high in the mix on this one… they know how to use pedals and effects to enhance the energy flows, too… a great little song.

4AM” is marked as “explicit”, but there’s little to worry about… nothing more than you’d hear on a rap or hip-hop album… some very nice guitar work on this one as well.

It’s the closer that got my vote for personal favorite of the four songs offered up… “Satellite” uses vocals combined quite nicely with string sounds and well-played piano to tell the story; the guitar soars high in a couple of places on this one, too… a suggestion would be that they make a LIVE video of the band performing this song.

The group gets a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.97.  Get more information at the Nocturnal Animals website.        Rotcod Zzaj
