Michael Kollwitz unique beauty Chapman stick Michael Kollwitz – Serenity/Peaceful Music on the Chapman Stick

Michael Kollwitz unique beauty Chapman stick Michael Kollwitz – SERENITY/PEACEFUL MUSIC ON THE CHAPMAN STICK:  A whole host of thoughts come floating up to me as I listen to Michael’s superb work… one of the first feelings is that I need to hook my friend Harlan Mark Vale (Prescott) up with Michael (Sedona), since they both live in Arizona; but, more strongly, I begin to realize just how fortunate I am to have made so many musical friends over these last 70 years!  As you absorb songs of pure beauty like “Greatest Possible Gift“, you will hear why I’m so enchanted by his work… this album will be playing for days, months & years to come – & it certainly will get a permanent spot on my iPhone!  If you’re more “visually-inclined”, you will be totally convinced when you view this 2015 clip of Michael playing “Secret Mountain” (you can also hear and see him on several other great videos on YouTube):

One thing I have no doubt you’ll hear/see right away in Michael’s playing is (what I call) “pacing”… pieces like the emotional opener for the Serenity album, “Mountain Sanctuary“, are played with a distinctive and delightful sense of “no rush” that will capture your ears just as quickly as they did mine… the length of the tune is perfect, too, giving plenty of room for Michael to comfort you with his healing tones!  It’s no wonder that Michael is such a master, actually, since he studied under the inventor of the instrument, Emmett Chapman, and you’ll hear the results of those studies on great songs like “Simple Pleasures” – truly one of the most inspiring and relaxed songs I’ve heard (yet) in 2017!

The promo sheets have three classifications listed – “New Age”, “Acoustic” and “Contemporary Instrumental”… though all of those “fit”, I think I would describe his music as “eternal”… pieces like my personal favorite of the fourteen sonic gems offered up for your aural pleasure, “Higher Power“, will let you hear why I believe Michael’s music will (easily) be on the music devices of future millenniums…  I give him my MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of (a perfect) 5.00; which means that he also gets my “PICK” for “most relaxing album of the century”!  Michael has produced over 20 albums, so visit his website to learn more about him.          Rotcod Zzaj
