vivid jazz chemistry Hiromi – Out There

vivid jazz chemistry Hiromi – OUT THERE:  There’s a crystal-clear reason why we called jazz pianist Hiromi’s earlier release, “Sonicwonderland“, fantastic… and her new release (1 April, 2025) with her Sonicwonder band gives you the kind of vivid jazz chemistry you rarely find these days!  To get a clear vision of what they’ve produced for your listening pleasure, I (most strongly) recommend that you watch this live performance of “Balloon Pop” first…

You’ll find several (over 100) performances to enjoy when you SUBSCRIBE to Hiromi’s official channel on YouTube; I’ve been there ever since my first listen to her work in 2023.

Absolute positive & funky energy is on display on the superb “Strollin’“, featuring some of the most high-talent jazz players you’ll ever hear… Hiromi – piano & keyboards, Hadrien Feraud – bass, Gene Coye – drums and Adam O’Farrill – trumpet, w/pedal.  This is the kind of jazz we all need more of, folks!

It only took 2 bars of the scorching 8:11 “The Quest” for me to make my decision… not only my personal favorite of the nine tunes offered up for our jazz joy, but one of my all-time high-energy favorites; this is an AMAZING jazz performance, people, and you’ll find yourself listening to it over and over (and OVER) again, I’ve no doubt.

I give Hiromi and her stellar band a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this highly desirable release.  Get more information, listen and purchase the album in digital or vinyl at the BandCamp page below…
