Intimately intriguing keyboards David K. Mathews – The Fantasy Vocal Sessions, Vol. 2

Intimately intriguing keyboards David K. Mathews – THE FANTASY VOCAL SESSIONS, VOL. 2:   True mastery of an instrument is a rare thing, but as you listen to David’s new album, you’ll realize that his June, 2020 album is one of the most intimately intriguing keyboard albums you’ve ever heard; he’s a true master.  Though I found no LIVE videos (hint! hint!), you’ll still want to make sure you SUBSCRIBE to David’s YouTube channel.

Tony Lindsay’s powerful vocal on Ray Obiedo’s “So Sweetly” will thrill you… David’s keyboard is subtle on this tune… if “soul music” is what you’re after – this is IT, folks… I predict that DJ’s everywhere will be spinning this song often!

Back in the day, the Isley Brothers were one of my favorite bands, and as you listen to Amikaeyla’s vocal on the 7:04 opener, “For The Love Of You“, you’ll be transported to a land where love is there for everyone, 24/7.

When ya’ gotta’ “funk it up” a bit, James Brown is always a top choice, and the soulful organ work on his “I Got You (I Feel Good)“, vocalized dynamically by Funky Fred Ross… in fact, this is one of my favorite performances of this song – EVER!

It wasn’t difficult (at all) to make my choice for personal favorite of the eleven sweet songs offered up… Stevie Wonder’s “Superwoman” is performed flawlessly by Amikaeyla… this one will (definitely) be on my iPhone playlist for a long time to come.

I give David and all his players/singers a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this superbly crafted musical magic.  Get more information at David’s page.              Rotcod Zzaj
