high energy jazz magic Dave Stryker Trio With Bob Mintzer – Groove Street

high energy jazz magic Dave Stryker Trio With Bob Mintzer – GROOVE STREET:  We’ve been fortunate enough to review MANY of guitarist Dave’s albums over the years; it’s always a pleasure, but on this new release (coming on January 5th, 2024), the playing is the epitome of high energy jazz magic… you can watch these masters perform LIVE on YouTube…

When you SUBSCRIBE to the Dave Stryker Official channel, you’ll be able to watch and listen to over 50 other excellent performances, too; I’ve been there for years.

One of the things about this trio that makes it stand out for me is Jared Gold’s organ work, and that absolutely leaps out at you on their rendition of Eddie Harris’s “Cold Duck Time” (samples available closer to the release date)… unquestionably one of my favorite tunes (yet) in 2023… the players are TIGHT, folks!

I had absolutely no doubt that their performance on Wayne Shorter’s 7:26 “Infant Eyes” was the winner of my choice for personal favorite of the nine tunes offered up… each player shines brilliantly with high talent, and will have you wrapped in their magic spell by the first few bars… Bob’s reed work on this tune is stellar.

Stay tuned to Dave’s new website to get the latest scoop on ordering this excellent new album… an absolute MUST-HAVE for any jazz aficionado, and a perfect Christmas gift (one of the tracks is already up at SPOTIFY, below)… I give it a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99!
