Heartfelt diversity in music Debbie Spring – Tocamos post-release review

Heartfelt diversity in music Debbie Spring – TOCAMOS:  Tocamos means “we play“, and Debbie’s 17 July, 2023 release, most assuredly is the kind of playing we all love to hear… full of heartfelt diversity and cross-cultural energy, I was very pleased to hear her introduce the album on YouTube… and watch her play with her group about 3 years (or so) ago…

It’s not often that we see/hear a 5-string viola player doing jazz, but Debbie is definitely at the top of her game, folks… some of the warmest and most mellow jazz you’ll ever hear… DIG it, people!

The lineup is stellar – HAL ROLAND (piano, keyboard), RUSTY HECK (bass and Spring’s husband), ETTIENNE FUENTES JR. (drums), SCOTT MARISCHEN (harp), PHILL FEST (guitar), HOWARD LEVY (harmonica and known for his work with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones), DAVID SCHANZER (percussion), JULIO MATTA (percussion), and EDDY “ORIENTE” BALZOLA (spoken word) – and full of the kind of energy that good jazz just IS.

If you prefer jazz that’s unique and original, you will head over to Spotify (right away) and get your own copy of the album…
