Grand genre-bending diversity Composers Concordance Records – Maggots and & Other Chamber Music of Gene Pritsker

Grand genre-bending diversity Composers Concordance Records – MAGGOTS AND OTHER CHAMBER MUSIC OF GENE PRITSKER:   One of the primary goals of starting my magazines was to make sure that music that challenged norms was highlighted… I can tell you right now that the grand genre-bending diversity you will hear on CCR’s new release is one of the most unique musical experiences you will ever enjoy… to get an intimate look at the adventure, watch the trailer for the album…

…the recording took place in several locations, with different players; you can check out the player lists here… if you love what you’re seeing and hearing, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Gene’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find many more great videos.

The spectacular accordion work of Milos Katanic on “Memories Are Not Enough” will put you in a totally mellow frame of mind… his pacing is amazing, and the recording is flawless!

Music that expands on the power of sound and allows it to form images for the listener is of great value, and as you listen to the beauty created on “Butterflies” (Part III of the “Maggots Concerto”), you will witness the glory of emergence into brand new worlds… I just loved this piece.

The 4:30 “Figar-OH” is among the strangest performances I’ve heard (yet) in 2020, and gives you very clear insight into the mind of a musical genius… I’ve no doubt (whatsoever) that DJ’s for eclectic stations ’round the globe will be spinning this piece often!

You’ll be hoisting your stein high as you enjoy the celebrations on “Berlin Suite You are crazy, my child. You must go to Berlin“… it certainly brought back memories for me (I spent a total of 8 years in Deutschland back in the ’60’s and ’70’s).

After my second listen to every note on this fantastic album, it was easy to make my personal choice for favorite of the seventeen strangenesses offered up to our ears… the closer, “Kostabi-isms” will either wreck your mind beyond repair, or make you realize just how wonderful the power of words and music can be!

I give CCR and Gene Pritsker a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this most entertaining sonic journey.  Get more information, and pre-order on Gene’s page for the release.              Rotcod Zzaj
