gracefully intense jazz piano Mamiko Watanabe – Being Guided By The Light

gracefully intense jazz piano Mamiko Watanabe – BEING GUIDED BY THE LIGHT:  If you love gracefully intense jazz piano as much as I do, you’ll fall in love with Mamiko’s splendid performances just as immediately as I did.  Her new release is scheduled for 23 February, 2024, so videos aren’t available for it yet, but here’s a live performance from 2018 that will give you a nice feel for her high-talent skills…

You can watch many of her older performances when you SUBSCRIBE to Mamiko’s YouTube channel (and of course we hope she will post some from the new album, as well).

In addition to her exciting piano, you’ll also hear Billy Hart on drums and Santi Debriano doing bass… the upbeat “The Scene Is Clean” is just that… totally clean and vibrant interplay between each member of the trio… this is one of the most amazing piano-led jazz tunes I’ve listened to (yet) in 2024!

Mamiko’s composition, “Atomic Space”, was an “instant winner” as my personal choice for favorite… it’s chock full of tantalizing twists and turns, and keeps her piano at the forefront for the entire 8:14 length of the tune.  I predict that this song will be considered for (and WIN) awards.

I give Mamiko and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this excellent release.  Keep your eyes and ears on her Spotify channel as the album gets closer to hitting the street.
