fun post punk rock si,irene – Bees

si,irene fun post punk rock si,irene – BEES:  This is far more than “just another punk rock band”… full-tilt fun is provided by the players on this well-recorded EP… Bresson Kenny:guitar; Kimchi Masaki:bass; Kinoshita Akihito:guitar; Imani Takamasa:drums and Reed David: vocal… join forces to rock your world in different ways than you’re used to… as you listen to tunes like “regrets“, you’ll hear that they have quite strong lyrical skills, and know (exactly) how to wrap those words into music that is FUN!

One of the tracks on the EP, the opener, “Awful Pop Song“, is anything BUT awful.. more like awe-full… in fact, to see that, scope out the video they produced for this track…

…VERY nice production on the video, and the music is integrated perfectly – in fact, I would recommend that (when/if they have time), all six of the songs on this EP be released as a full-length video… they’ve definitely got the creativity and skill to pull that off!

How is their music “different”, you ask?  Well, just listen (now, I mean – LISTEN – with your headphones on) to the lyrics on my personal favorite of the six tunes offered up… the closer, “the grand charade“, hearkens back (in so many ways) to the days I was baptized in ’60’s rock… where that’s most noticeable (for this writer, anyway) is in the “message” they convey with their music… well-written lyrics, an undercurrent of slight insanity, and instrumental proficiency that’s a cut above all the rest.

I give si, irene a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.97.  Get more information on the group’s BandCamp page.       Rotcod Zzaj
