Exhilarating enchanting saxophone jazz Benny Rubin Jr. – Know, Say or See

Exhilarating enchanting saxophone jazz Benny Rubin Jr. – KNOW, SAY OR SEE:  Before I even get started with Benny’s brand-new CD release, I strongly encourage you to watch the splendid animation of “Flint Water Crisis“…

…one of the best music animations I’ve watched (yet) in 2020; be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Benny’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find many more entertaining performances.

On this super solid 58 minute album, Benny’s tantalizing tenor and alto sax are joined by Lex Korten (Piano); Adam Olszewski (Bass) and JK KiM (Drums), and they’ll simply blow you away as you listen to tunes like the 5:47 “NYC Urge“, a Rubin original based on Joe Henderson’s “Inner Urge”… GREAT solos on this tune… DJ’s across the globe are going to LOVE this tune!

Benny’s tenor work on the avant-garde “Say” is more accessible than you might expect for a tune with that much improvisation… what makes this tune truly stand out is the “pacing” from each of the players.

I knew after my first spin of the album that my choice for personal favorite was going to be the quartet’s performance of Horace Silvers’ “Kiss Me Right“… elegant & sophisticated jazz swinging that will hold your ears spellbound for the entire 8:06 length!

I give Benny & his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this most exciting jazz excursion.  Learn more on Benny’s Bandcamp page for the release.                Rotcod Zzaj
