Beautiful Brazilian and Afro-Cuban jazz Sue Maskaleris – Love Is The Key

Beautiful Brazilian and Afro-Cuban jazz Sue Maskaleris – LOVE IS THE KEY:  It’s been (over) seven years since I first reviewed Sue’s “Bring Nothing But Your Heart” CD, but her shimmering energy has increased mightily on this beautiful Brazilian and Afro-Cuban jazz release… to get a feel for her unbounded energy, check out her promo video for the new album…

Since you’re there already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Sue’s YouTube channel, so you can enjoy all the other high-energy performances she has posted there for your enjoyment.

The keyword for one of the most enjoyable songs I’ve heard (yet) in 2021 is “languid”… you’ll feel that too as you listen to Sue’s enchanting vocal on “Bliss“… DJ’s won’t be able to resist plugging into their playlists regularly!

There’s a superb sense of flying freely on the 6:07 “Fly Away“… you will be totally captivated by the players (Sue’s core band is – Sue Maskaleris: vocals, piano, keyboards, synth strings Wesley Amorim: guitars, Samuel Martinelli: drums and Leo Traversa: bass, 5-string fretless bass… there are a whole host of guest players, too, far more than I can itemize here) on this engaging jazz journey – I know I was; a unique 5/4 arrangement with a distinctive rhythm & blues feel.

Though it’s one of the shorter tunes, I found the opener, “Procrastination“, to be my personal favorite of the eleven exciting songs Sue and her players perform for you… high-energy and high-talent all the way, baby!

I give Sue, her core group and all the magnificent guests a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on Sue’s website.                                  Rotcod Zzaj
