Astounding sophomore jazz release (Exclusive Preview) #Bloomerangs – Moments and Fragments

Astounding sophomore jazz release (Exclusive Preview) #Bloomerangs – MOMENTS AND FRAGMENTS: When I first reviewed their debut album, “Horizon Sunset“, I was very highly impressed with their original material; on their astounding sophomore jazz release, you’ll realize (right away) that this is a band you will be hearing a LOT more from in the coming months & years… they’ve given us an Exclusive Preview to their new March, 2020 release (samples won’t be available for a while, but I’ll come back & add them in as soon as they tell me the album has gone HOT)… be sure to watch their ultra-cool promotional video for this release, though…

…the video clearly shows their amazing jazz talent; if you SUBSCRIBE to their “#Bloomerangs Music Collective” channel on YouTube, you’ll be able to watch all their videos as they arrive… as you can see, their energy is totally focused on giving the listener (YOU) a full-bodied jazz experience.

You’ve got Chris Parker on drums and Rodrigo Cotelo on guitars, with Stefan Lenthe on bass and Clay Wulbrecht on piano, and they really COOK on tunes like the upbeat “Catch a Clue”… nice handclap percussion and I (totally) LOVED (what I believed to be) the organ work (Rodrigo told me that is actually his guitar with a rotary effect – TOO cool)!

I have no doubt that the 3:24 “Change of Pace” will be getting MASSIVE amounts of airplay… Rodrigo’s guitar on this tune just SMOKES it, and the energy is stellar… this tune earned permanent placement on my iTunes player (something that only happens with the very BEST tunes).

For a most funky groove, you’ll find “SMitchell St” (recognized as Semi Finalist in the Jazz category of the Nashville based International Songwriting Competition) will give you total sonic satisfaction… if you’re not up & dancin’ within seconds on this 7:24 powerhouse, I’ll be quite surprised… lots of changes in rhythm and mood make the tune one of the best jazz excursions I’ve heard (yet) in 2020!

After my third listen through the album, it was easy to choose my personal favorite of the thirteen songs offered up for your jazz pleasure… “After The Fact”, an original by Rodrigo, has a beautiful bass lead-in with superb percussion complimenting it, and will take you on a jazz journey like you’ve never experienced before.

I give #Bloomerangs a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, as well as a (perfect) “EQ” score of 5.00… that means, of course, that they also get a “PICK” from me for “best new jazz album of 2020”.  Learn more about this fantastic group on the #Bloomerangs website.            Rotcod Zzaj
