Absolutely exciting contemporary jazz Adam Glaser – Excursions

Absolutely exciting contemporary jazz Adam Glaser – EXCURSIONS:  I first reviewed jazz pianist Adam’s debut album, “Wide Awake“, with top-of-the-line marks a couple years ago when it was released… his newest release (May, 2021) has 15 absolutely exciting contemporary jazz tunes that will stay on your playlists for years to come.  Though I didn’t see any LIVE videos on the Adam Glaser topic channel on YouTube, you can listen to the entire album by clicking below…

Adam’s organ work on the down & funky “Con Artist” will make you an “instant believer” in his ability to stir your soul and get your feet moving… I have no doubt that DJ’s of all stripes will be plugging this superb tune into their playlists on a regular basis!

You’ll hear a much gentler mood being conveyed from Adam’s piano on the beautiful “Lay Low“… I just loved the interaction between the bass and the piano… the guitar is sweet and solid, too.

A Man of Few Words” might make you think this is going to be another “quiet” song, but you can dispense with that notion right NOW, folks… it feels kinda’ like those late-night “sneaky alley-cat” scenes we’ve all pictured before… one of the BEST funk-based keyboard tunes I’ve heard (yet) in 2021!

All fifteen songs on Adam’s fantastic release are composed and performed by him, and even the oddly-named opener, “Naomi’s Binomial Nomenclature“, stands out as a WINNER

I had no difficulty in choosing my personal favorite for this amazing album… the closer, “Delivery“, just shimmers with life… it was this song that made me (also) choose it for my iPhone player (something that only happens to the BEST albums).

This is one of the best jazz journeys I’ve enjoyed this year, and it gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on Adam’s website.                                Rotcod Zzaj
