Vivaciously vibrant jazz originals Grasso-Ravita Jazz Ensemble – Jagged Spaces

Vivaciously vibrant jazz originals Grasso-Ravita Jazz Ensemble – JAGGED SPACES:  Just over an hour’s worth of vivaciously vibrant jazz originals from the players… Skip Grasso- guitar; Phil Ravita – acoustic bass and electric 6-string bass; Benny Russell – tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone; Greg Small – piano and Nuc Vega – drums… of course, as always, the way to really get acquainted with their jazz magic is to WATCH them performing it…

…you’ll find a few videos to enjoy when you SUBSCRIBE to the Grasso-Ravita Jazz Ensemble YouTube channel, and I expect as the album gets closer to the January 15th, 2021 release date, you’ll find more posted there.

Benny’s original “Songhai” is one of the most moving (in the sense of “momentum”) I’ve listened to in the last five years… I have no doubt that jazz DJ’s across the globe will be adding this to their playlists frequently!

If you’re looking for a tune that’s a bit more on the mellow side, you’ll find Greg Small’s “Circles” very enjoyable… his interactions with Phil’s bass are simply superb on this performance.

Latin for Leandro“, by Skip, is a very full-bodied tune with quite unique Latin rhythms… this is another track that DJ’s will be spinning often, I believe!

The lively pace on Phil’s “Blue Sunshine” made it (easily) my choice for personal favorite of the nine stellar tunes offered up for our jazz pleasure… Benny’s reed work is phenomenal, and this piece will lift your spirits for months (& years) to come.

I give Grasso-Ravita Jazz Ensemble a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this most enjoyable jazz journey.  Get more information on the Grasso-Ravita page for the album.                      Rotcod Zzaj
