Creatively unique Christmas jazz Robert Prester & Adriana Samargia – First Snow

Creatively unique Christmas jazz Robert Prester & Adriana Samargia – FIRST SNOW:  As you might expect, I get a lot of seasonal albums in right around this time of the year… I can tell you now, though, this submission is one of the most creatively unique Christmas releases I’ve heard in several years… you’ll get a real “down-home” feel when you watch the video they created for the title track, “First Snow“…

I just loved the pictures they used on this video… nothing glamorous, but full of happy memories (of my grandmother’s house) for me… you will find many more live performances when you SUBSCRIBE to Adriana’s YouTube channel, too.

The choir intro on “Joi to the World”  moves the tune in totally different directions than you might have expected… the players are (all) phenomenal… you’ll hear Adriana Samargia, vocals ♦ Robert Prester, piano ♦ David Schanzer, percussion ♦ Dave Edwards, acoustic bass ♦ Bennie Katz, electric bass ♦ Joel Rosenblatt, drums ♦ Josef Samargia, vocals ♦ Jacob Samargia, vocals… it’s hard to believe they packed that many changes into a 3:57 song – DJ’s are going to EAT this one UP… you’ll be hearing it on their playlist often, I predict!

Adriana’s vocal on “All I Want for Christmas is You” is (again) unique (you can hear the smile in her voice, actually), and Robert’s piano gives the tune just the right ambience… superbly recorded and very tasty jazz.

The overtones Robert is able to create on “Comfort, Comfort, O My People“, and Adriana’s magically moving vocal made the song my choice for personal favorite of the dozen delightful tunes offered up… hint – when the choir kicks in at the 2:58 mark, you will BE transported to the heavens!

I give Robert, Adriana and all their players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on the BandCamp page for the album.                                 Rotcod Zzaj
