Superior inventive jazz guitar mastery Guillaume Muller – Sketches of Sound

Superior inventive jazz guitar mastery Guillaume Muller – SKETCHES OF SOUND:  Guillaume’s superior inventive jazz guitar is fresh and new (for me, that is; others may have been following him for some time now)… though I didn’t see any LIVE videos from this album, you’ll find videos for all the tunes on this album on his YouTube Topic Channel.

His mighty mellow jazz guitar is joined by Nino Wenger on Alto Saxophone (www.ninowenger.com); Jim Funnell on Piano (funnelljazz.eu); Gui Duvignau on Upright Bass (guiduvignau.bandcamp.com) and Josh Bailey on Drums (www.joshbaileydrums.com) … totally enchanting on tunes like the upbeat opener, “Lullaby for a Capybara” (a semi-aquatic South American rodent, lol)… rodent or not, it will be falling off to dreamland easily with the tone Guillaume and his bandmates set for this superb piece of jazz!

The short bass intro on “Flying Bison” morphs very nicely into a full-bodied, full-tilt composition that jazz lovers everywhere will truly dig… this one is already getting repeated spins on my iPhone player (an honor reserved only for the very best jazz), and I suspect it will be getting lots of jazz airplay.

If laid-back is what your looking for, you’re going to fall in love with my personal favorite of the seven superb songs offered up, “Alone Together“… perfect balance and excellent recording make it one of the best guitar-led jazz pieces I’ve listened to (yet) in 2019!

I give Guillaume and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on the Guillaume Muller website.             Rotcod Zzaj
