Highly refreshing original jazz compositions Fred Randolph – Mood Walk

Highly refreshing original jazz compositions Fred Randolph – MOOD WALK:  If you’re seeking jazz that will thrill your ears, you (really, REALLY) need to check out bassist Fred Randolph’s upcoming highly refreshing original jazz release… it doesn’t go live until early May, but here’s a splendid clip that will give you a real feel for Fred’s exciting playing style…

…I suspect that by the time this CD is released, there will be some LIVE performances from the album, but in the meantime, be sure you SUBSCRIBE to Fred’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find several other live sets to enjoy… I not only subscribed, but made it a favorite as well.

Samples won’t be ready for a while, but I’ll come back and add the links in as soon as I’m told the album has gone live… in the meantime, let me tell you that songs like “T Bone Slide” are among the very best you will hear in 2020… Fred’s bass just KICKZ out those jams and the organ is just stellar…  the players are totally HOT – Fred on basses, Erik Jekabson on trumpet/flugelhorn, Sheldon Brown doing tenor sax/flute, Greg Wyser-Pratte playing drums and Dan Zemelman on piano, with guests Greg Sankovich on keyboards/organ, Silvestre Martinez and Brian Rice playing percussion and Dillon Vado on vibes – one of the funkiest jazz crews I’ve ever heard!

The superb drum into on the title track, “Mood Walk”, segues ever-so-nicely into a solid and upbeat tune that jazz DJ’s are going to LOVE… you’ll be hearing this one on your favorite jazz station frequently.

Of the eleven tunes Fred offers up, I found the 7:14 “Todd’s Idea” was my choice for personal favorite… excellent keyboard work, strong guiding bass down under and a great groove that true jazz lovers will be playing over and over again!

I give Fred and his heavy-duty crew a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information as it becomes available on Fred’s website.            Rotcod Zzaj
