exciting jazz explorations Delbecq Flouzat Renard – TRIPLE FEVER: We don’t get a lot of music in from Europe, so the exciting jazz explorations that pianist Benoit Delbecq and his trio (Etienne Renard, bass – Guilhem Flouzat, drums) provide for you on this upcoming (16 January, 2024) release is most welcomed. You can watch them in action in this video from a year back…
You’ll also find several other engaging performances when you SUBSCRIBE to Benoit’s YouTube channel (as I did, right away).
Creativity abounds on this EP, especially on tunes like the 2:51 “Liquide”… in fact, it’s one of the most astounding trio tunes I’ve heard (yet) in 2023… I particularly enjoyed the bass intro, then the slow meld into the high-talent full trio display!
You will easily “hear” the invisible beauty they explore on songs like my personal favorite, the 5:47 “Log Lady”… nice slow builds, with fantastic interplay between all three masters makes for a totally engaging tune that you will be listening to over and over (and OVER) again.
Though the samples aren’t available yet, keep your eyes and ears on Benoit’s Spotify channel (below)… I give these three excellent players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.
