Bold creative expressive solo piano Rachel LaFond – Encounters of the Beautiful Kind

Bold creative expressive solo piano Rachel LaFond – ENCOUNTERS OF THE BEAUTIFUL KIND: I first had the opportunity to review Rachel’s bold and expressive piano creations on her debut CD, “Wandering Soul“… this new June, 2018 release is even more spiritually uplifting than her debut release.

Rachel’s expressive and bold approach to the keyboard wins her high marks from me again… songs like the opener, “Luminous“, will raise your spirit to new heights (in only the first few bars).  Rachel (just this last week of May, 2018) also released a wonderfully sensitive video of this song…

I have no doubt that you will find her marvelous and engaging performance on songs like “Heart Full of Memories” just as captivating as I did… this is truly one of the most emotionally rewarding solo piano compositions I have heard (yet) in 2018 – the song draws from the deepest well of emotions to paint scenes both sad and joyful, as life often does.  One of the most notable things about her playing is her ability to “ride” the overtones, and (literally) use them to segue into chord changes… her talent is far above average in that arena.

The upper registers on the 3:40 “Unrestrained Joy” are used to full effect, and sing to your ears as angels would… shimmering with life and the joy of living it.  I loved this piece, and have no doubt you will, too.

After my second listen through the entire album (with headphones on, of course), it was easy to pick my personal favorite of the eleven songs Rachel offers up for your aural enjoyment… the deep tones & overtones on “You Will Conquer This Shadow” evoke memories of harder times that have been worked through and overcome with the power that music can bring – and that’s what Rachel brings to you through her playing… the POWER of beautiful music!  Rachel easily gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this solo piano-lovers dream.  Get more information at the Rachel LaFond website.         Rotcod Zzaj
