Awesome ambient locations Palm Reading – Malibu: Point Mugu

Awesome ambient locations Palm Reading – MALIBU: POINT MUGU:  Our friends at myndstream are constantly featuring new artists with new concepts… on this release, Skooby Laposky and Charles Copley create awesome ambient “locations” that will put you in a state of total mindfulness and refreshing relaxation.

Even more amazing, the music is generated by plants… per the liner notes, their goal is to “give plants a voice“, and through masterful use of a biodata sonification device, they actually capture what the plants have to say to us – in the locations the plants reside in… this is something brand new to me, folks – and I have no doubt they are going to have total success with this… it’s some of the most attractive ambient music I have ever listened to!

My first experience with music based on plants was on Stevie Wonder’s “The Secret Life of Plants”, but what Skooby and Charles have done is something totally different… as you listen to the calm and peaceful “voices” speaking with inspiration to you, it will become clear they merit our protection and care – it further brings home the point that we need each other, and that sustaining our environment is far more important than we may have realized.

This first location/release is EP-length, clocking in at 15:45… I especially enjoyed the opener, “White Sage (Salvia apiana)”… I (most strongly) advise that you listen to this with your headphones on, so you can catch all the shades being offered up for your meditative pleasure… because this tune is only 5:57, I’m very sure DJ’s of all stripes will be plugging it into their playlists frequently!

I truly am looking forward to many more releases/locations from this talented duo… I give Palm Reading a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information at the myndstream website as it becomes available.                               Rotcod Zzaj
